The birth of BARNES Lyon

After 20 years' experience in the High Tech industry at IBM and then ST, Thomas Vantorre decided to join the BARNES group in 2014. Trained as an engineer, he has developed his skills in project management and management. His priority: service, excellence and customer satisfaction. An entrepreneur with a passion for human relations and prestige real estate, he decided to launch the BARNES agency in Lyon.

Why BARNES Lyon exists
Thomas Vantorre has a taste for challenge and innovation. But what guided his recruitment in 2015 was to build a team with whom he shares the values that are fundamental to him: the right value of things, human relationships, our environment, promises kept and entrepreneurship.

The first office opens at 29, quai Saint Antoine in Lyon 2nd district.

Gérald Châtel joins Thomas Vantorre and the 8 consultants already in place

Gérald Châtel becomes a privileged contact alongside his Consultants to provide sound advice to BARNES Lyon customers in their sales, purchases, asset arbitrage, property income optimization and rental projects. 2023

The real estate market has seen a significant drop in transactions.
Some 16% down on the previous year. Linked to rising interest rates, which have almost quadrupled in 18 months, this is the first fall in property prices for 10 years. Economic conditions deteriorated in Q2 2023, although the first indicators date back to September 2022. This situation is affecting buyers' purchasing power, forcing them to make larger down payments. Sellers have to adjust their selling prices in line with recent transactions. However, for those who have owned their property for more than 5 years, capital gains are recorded in every one of our sales.
